mountain biking at HWCC

High Wycombe CC has many members who are both recreational and competitive MTB riders. In fact many of our road and TT riders originally came from an MTB background.

HIGH WYCOMBE CC Mountain Bike RIDES

In typical MTB stylee HWCC runs mountain bike rides as and when we feel like it!
We know the Chilterns well both on and off road and run mountain bike rides in the evening and weekends, just not on a regular basis like the Sunday morning club runs.   If you want to know when the next off-road ride or event is then join the club and stay in touch on the Message Board.   Regular off-roaders are Neil Wragg, Nick Calkin, Toby Cappell, Kev Holloway & Paul Morrissey so grab one of them if you want any help.

Alternatively our local bike shop and club supporter Cycle Care know all there is to know about riding off road around the Chilterns and might be able to hook you up with an organised ride.

Trail Break are a fantastic company, personally recommended and provide a great way to ride your bike, hassle free!  They organise various events such as way marked trail rides in great locations, navigator style bike orienteering events and cyclosportives.

CHILL OUT AFTER AN MTB RIDE

Don't take up mountain biking if you want to be the 'most powerful man on the planet'.

The Summit Series MTB Races
Entry Form - Click Here
http://www.summitmtb.co.uk

Summit MTB's new extended course in Lotts Wood near Amersham is among only a handful of permanent XC venues in South East England and provides local XC racers with real challenge.
Now over 2.5 miles long, Lotts Wood has three short but tough climbs, fast swooping single-track and technical sections. It neatly fits a wide variety of features into a compact space.

This year the series is open only to riders aged 16 and above and will be run for the following male categories: Elite and Expert, Sport, Masters, Veteran, Junior and Fun plus two ladies categories for regular racers and Fun riders. This year the two Fun cats will race for longer with a 35 minute plus one lap event. Click here to download the entry form.

On the night signing-on is from 18.30-19.00 with the course will open for practice at 18.30. Racing starts at 19.30 and finishes around 20.45. Timekeeping and lap scoring is done using the latest version of the popular Racemate software.

Entry costs just £10 per rider or £9 for Summit MBC members and must be made before 19.00 on the night of the race. Thanks to Summit's membership of the Mountain Bike Sport Association, competitors can pre-enter the five-round series in advance up to the Monday beforehand by logging on to www.mbsawebsite.com

The series runs on the following remaining Wednesdays: 13th June;18th July; 22nd August and 19th September

Lotts Wood is located off Chalk Lane between the A413 at Little Missenden and Hyde Heath. For a map please click here: http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=493595&y=199153&z=1&sv=493750,199250&st=4&ar=Y&mapp=newmap.srf&searchp=newsearch.srf
